Bass fishing here on Lake Okeechobee in May is now my favorite month of the year. For the last 3 years the bass fishing here in Florida on Lake Okeechobee has been awesome.

The bass have very easy to catch on a variety of lures….like the Zoom Horny Toad, Rattle traps and even Carolina rigs…..and don’t let me forget the shiner fishing is the BEST…Big Okeechobee Bass!

The thicker outside Grass lines on the lake have been the ones to target. The Point of Rita Island and Kramer Island have been very hot.

My Guides here on Lake Okeechobee has been telling me that most of the big bass (over 8lbs) have been coming on Shiners. But it not uncommon in the least to catch a fish that size or bigger on lures.
